Workplace happiness part one: Feeling comfortable in your (work) skin

Doesn’t it feel like yesterday when we were young, fresh faced graduates trying to fit into the workplace, with no clue on what to wear to work? Bumbling around the office, feeling kind of awkward in those ill-fitting pants and shedding that horrid grandma-esque blazer as soon as you walk out the door..
Fast forward to current day self – yep, we've still got the same issues.
To avoid feeling uncomfortable in your work get up, we have a few tried and tested tips to ensure that you feel confident all week long. After all, we dedicate over a third of our waking lives to our careers, so why shouldn’t we love the clothes we wear for such a significant part of our lives?
1. INVEST IN UNIQUE STAPLE PIECES
Look for staple pieces which have unique detailing that reflects your personal style, rather than going for seasonal pieces. You will wear your staple pieces time and time again.
2. ALWAYS BUY PIECES THAT DO DOUBLE-DUTY
Build your work wardrobe around the styles you wear all the time by choosing pieces of clothing to either dress up or down in order to distinguish from day to play.
TIP: If you are required to wear a suit to work, ensure that one of the pairing is the right fit to also wear with denim jeans or a white t-shirt on the weekend.
3. DO NOT USE COLLEAGUES AS A BENCHMARK ON HOW TO DRESS AT WORK
They may not actually have any more of an idea than you do! Be yourself and choose pieces that express your individuality. Your image is a huge part of your personal brand, so don't be afraid to stand out from the crowd (whilst still remaining work appropriate, of course!)
Our
Front Fold Culottes are both comfortable and professional enough to wear to work, no matter what your profession.
4. DRESS FOR YOUR BODYSHAPE
Everyone is unique in their own way, so our choice in workwear should reflect our individuality. Choose styles that are flattering for your body type.
Our white
High Waisted Tux Trousers are a great option for most body types. They cinch in at the waist, flatter the hips and elongate the legs, what more could you ask for?
